Gold Rush

My father was a gold placer miner. Every spring he would depart for some remote location up in Northern Canada and I sometimes wouldn't see him till very late fall. He was quite the adventurer and would sometimes bring me a tiny little gold nugget or some bits of gold flakes as a surprise. He never really "struck it rich" but was always hopeful and quite sure that the next season would bring him the big payoff. I love the little gold veins running through this painting which remind me to never lose hope!
